Lewis University Athletics

Jim Kavanagh arrived at Lewis as a sophomore via Marquette University and as a sophomore participated on the 1956 edition of the Lewis Football Flyers.  Jim stayed at Lewis and received a B.A. in Biology.  
 
Kavanagh immediately landed a job at his alma mater, Joliet Catholic HS and coach football, wrestling and track while teaching biology and physical education.  In 1966, Kavanagh was approached by the newly appointed principal of Montini HS, Bro. J. Edmund FSC, and was asked to helped open the new suburban high school as its athletic director and football coach.  
 
Jim resides in Villa Park, IL with his wife and six children.
