Women's Volleyball / Women's Basketball / Men's Tennis
(1975-2006) Karen Lockyer was Lewis University's women's volleyball head coach for 31 seasons. She compiled a record of 734-426-7. Her 734 career wins rank ninth all-time in NCAA Division II history.

She led the Flyers to the NCAA Division II National Championship match in 1981 with a 51-11-2 record. In addition to the Flyers' run in 1981, Lewis qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 1982, 1988, 1989, 2000 and 2002. Lockyer coached Lewis to the Great Lakes Valley Conference title in 1982, 1983, 1989 and 1992 and to the GLVC runner-up spot in 1984, 1987 and 1988. She earned GLVC Coach of the Year honors in 1988, 1989 and 2002.
Her career record includes a 256-77-7 ledger during Lewis' years in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW), making her the third-winningest coach in AIAW history. Lockyer took over a year-old Lewis program in 1975 and made an immediate impact, as the Flyers produced a 12-4 record. It was the first of 24 winning campaigns for Lewis under Lockyer's guidance. She coached Lewis to four AIAW postseason appearances.
Lockyer is chairperson of Lewis' Sport and Exercise Science Department, holding the rank of professor.
She also served as women's basketball coach for two seasons, compiling a 21-6 record during the 1975-76 and 1976-77 campaigns. Karen was also the men's tennis coach for two years. She also held the title of Lewis Athletics Senior Woman Administrator.
