Mariah Brawner-Henley is regarded as one of the women’s basketball players in the history of the Lewis University after playing from 2012-2016. 

 Brawner-Henley played in 124 games for the Flyers during her career and ranks first in various stats in Lewis women’s basketball history. During her time with the Flyers, Brawner-Henley scored 1,981 points, made 809 field goals, grabbed 1,282 rebounds, 10.3 rebounds per contest, 400 offensive rebounds, 882 defensive rebounds. Brawner-Henley also ranks in the top 5 in other categories, 144 blocked shots (2nd), 1, 550 Field goals attempted (3rd), .522 field goal percentage (4th), 335 Free Throws Made (4th). Brawner-Henley owns the single-season record for most field goals made (261) and total rebounds (410).

Brawner-Henley was a nine-time GLVC Player of the Week winner while also seeing her name on the All-GLVC First Team for three years from 2013-2016 including two-time Player of the Year honor in 2013-14 and 2015-26. During her four years at Lewis, Brawner-Henley recorded 72 double-doubles which ranks No. 2 all-time in NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball history.  In the three years, Brawner-Henley also was a three-time D2CCA All-American and WBCA All-American for her performance on the court.

Brawner-Henley graduated from Lewis in 2016 with a degree in Sports Management. After graduation, Brawner-Henley played overseas professionally for Aabyhoj in Denmark. Brawner-Henley went on to recieve her Master’s in Business Administration Northern illinois University while serving as a graduate asssitant coach for the women’s basketball program. In 2022, Brawner-Henley was awarded the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association 30 Under 30 Award.  Brawner-Henley currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball Team at Illinois State University.
