Ray Fedo was a member of the Flyer basketball team from 1952-1956.  He also holds the distinction of being one of the players on the first baseball team in 1953.  Fedo established himself as the first “big man” in Lewis basketball history.  Considered almost unstoppable around the basket, Fedo’s great jumping ability quickly helped establish him as one of the premier centers in the mid-west.  Fedo currently ranks eighth on the Flyers all-time scorer list with 1267 career points.

Ray led the Flyers squad in both rebounding and points scored during the 1953 and 1954 seasons.  He was captain of the 1953 team.  His 18.4 scoring average during the 1954 season puts him fourteenth on the all-time scoring leaders per season list.

Fedo served with the Marine Corps from 1956-1958 where he earned the rank of First Lieutenant.

He has been employed at the Joliet Herald News for the past sixteen years where he works in advertising sales.  He is married and the father of one child.  He also has one grandchild.
