Ed Novak played for the Flyers as a wide-receiver / end all four years at Lewis 1951-55. As a freshman, he participated on the 1951 Flyer squad that won the Corn Bowl (7-1-0). As a senior end, Novak lead the Flyers with 11 touchdown receptions. Ed entered the teaching / coaching field immediately upon graduation and he has served at Chicago Mendel HS (8 years), St. Louis (MO) Augustinian HS (3 years) and Midlothian Bremen Township HS (15 years). Ed is presently the Head Football coach and assistant track coach at Bremen and next fall will be seeking his 100th victory as Bremen’s coach. He resides in Crestwood, IL with his wife, is the father of five children and one grandchild.
