Tom Dedin arrived at Lewis after two years at Loras College (IA) and instantly earned a starting position on the Flyer baseball squad as a pitcher.  Tom’s position as the 10th winningest pitcher in Flyer history is quite an accomplishment.  After graduation, Tom helped open New Lenox Providence HS.  His baseball teams from 1962 through 1976 won 245 games and including summer leagues, Tom has coached over 400 wins on the high school level.  Dedin assumed the head baseball coach and athletic director positions for Lewis in fall 1976.  His first year he guided the Flyers to a 4thplace finish in the 1977 NAIA National Baseball Tournament.

Tom is currently the Head Baseball Coach at the University of Illinois.  Dedin, his wife and four children live in Champaign, IL.
